Two weeks Ukrainian pop diva Gaitana spent in the faraway Africa, namely in Congo. She hasn’t seen her father for almost 12 years and finally Gaitana’s devout dream came true. In airport Maya-Maya in Brazzaville her big family of 10 persons was longing for the meeting. The moment of family’s union with Ukrainian daughter was very emotional.

Gaitana stayed at the country house of her father Claver Essami. In spite of the house is uncompleted Gaitana insisted to stay there because exactly this house welcomes the most number of relatives. And it appeared that Gaitana has many relatives. Claver has big family – 8 brothers and sisters and each of them has children and grandchildren. They all were visiting Gaitana at the house everyday. For the beloved daughter Claver prepared special room in European style even outfitted with the air conditioning. It is real ostents of father’s love to his daughter to make her room so comfortable in the country with low conditions of life.

Gaitana: «This trip to Congo will stay in my heart forever. This is the first time I didn’t want to spend couple of hours alone with the book. I read books in my every trip. I wanted to enjoy Congo as much I could. African people are different than in Europe. Family is their greatest value. Women totally devoted their lives to husbands and those in return work really hard. Children are self-consistent and they know how to take care about themselves. Also, they’re really open and they appreciate everything – sun, nature and life in general. I am really impressed by these people».

Gaitana was lucky to have a one day trip along Africa. Together with her big family she visited on boats island Sinege. The island is under patronage of Gaitana’s father and uncle. There Ukrainian guest met with the oldest shaman of the island. He received Gaitana with full honors and asked her to bring two tractors. Agricultural equipment is the priceless gift in Africa, it’s much more important than money. After the reception shaman presented Gaitana African grey parrot, the best he had. Unfortunately, it appeared to be impossible to take out the parrot from Africa – these birds are in the IUCN Red List.  

Gaitana also was giving away presents. She presented the puppy of toy-terrier brought from Ukraine to her little cousin Estella and the girl immediately gave the nickname to puppy – Dominique. Other children Gaitana brought pencils, colored chalk, modeling clay and, of course, sweets that children loved the most!  

Gaitana: «Congolese people are very artistic, all of them sing and dance very well. Of course, I bought several Cds with African ethnic music. New rhythms that I brought from Africa you can hear soon in my song “Lyubi menya”».
